The Return Of The 80’s
Sep 2nd, 2010 by admin

Proof that what goes around really will come around. Television shows and film along with fashion soon come back. Flowery leggings and baggy t-shirts are seen on just as many high street shop dummies today as they were twenty years ago. If the same fashions are always going to come back to haunt us, what else are we doomed to do over from twenty years ago??

Back in the eighties all the cool kids had a sodastream. These were handy little gadgets that made truly awful tasting fizzy drinks. As well as the taste there was also the terrific mess they’d make and by the time you’d finish getting syrup everywhere it was vanished to the back of the cupboard. Impractical and disgusting it may have been but it certainly make the soda stream certainly made the summer months more fun. Take a good look next time you’re in the shops. They’re back? Only this time they’ve have a facelift and some much needed improvements have been made to the taste.

One of the most iconic cartons of the 1980’s has to be Thundercats. Who would have thought a tiger, lion, cheater and panther could live together so harmoniously? This cult TV show will forever be remembered as one of the greats of the 80’s. Although officially plans for a CGI movie have been put on hold, rumours are it won’t be long before these heroic cats are gracing our screens once again.

When it comes to shows on our televisions that we all loved, every person who was born in the 80’s who owned a TV set probably still knows the following lyrics: now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down. One of the biggest actors in Hollywood today started in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Proving my point perfectly, another return of an 80’s classic is making its way back to our screens at the moment. Will Smith’s son Jaden Smith is bringing the 80’s classic The Karate Kid back to our screens. Proof that what goes around really will come around.

The Best Ways To Book A Comedian For Corporate Occasions
Sep 1st, 2010 by admin

Want to book a comedian, yet aren’t certain where to look? Do you feel nervous concerning booking the suitable comedian for the venue as well as guest? Are you hesitant to contract with particular performers or booking companies because you’re not sure if they have excellent acts? Are you currently working with a restricted spending budget? In that case, welcome to the crazy world of comedian bookings! It’s true that booking high quality comic entertainment could be a difficult chore, particularly with the myriad of mediocre talent and booking services on the market. Each year, there seem to be a lot more comedians to choose from. However, it’s our feeling that once you’ve encountered an excellent booking agency, you’ve by now won 90 percent of the battle.

If you’ve ever been to a standup comedy club, you already know just how much a good comedian can liven up the occasion! There are several types of comedians, such as improv comedians, impressionist comedians, musical comedians, political comedians, comedian hypnotists, and motivational comedians. A comedian uses a number of techniques including jokes, story telling, audience interaction, props, one-liners, and funny facial expressions. Other forms would include a corporate comedian, physical comedy, mime comic, stand up comedian, juggler comic, magician comedian, and a ventriloquist comedian. Another highlight is custom comedy where comedians write certain jokes tailored for your affair or theme.

Essentially you would like one comedian to captivate a crowd of people for half an hour. A corporate audience requires a seasoned comedian, since they might be challenging to entertain for quite a few reasons. The viewers is most likely to be there for purposes other than to see a comedian and may cover a broad range of age groups and preferences – you’ll want a comedian who will NOT offend any specific group and can keep the gags short-and-snappy. This is why you spend extra to get a comedian who has experience of working at such occasions.

If you are planning to book a professional comedian for a corporate function or holiday party there are a few factors you have to know before you start. Everyone that ever got on stage on open mic night thinks of himself as a comic. Despite the fact that he may have gotten a number of laughs before his buddies a corporate event or holiday party could be totally different outcome. Comedians in many cases are hired to perform at colleges, businesses, fairs, resorts, as well as on cruise ships. You can even consider employing a comedian to become the MC of the awards banquet, product launch as well as trade show booth.

Book a comedian using a qualified comedy booking agency. They may be aware of hundreds of well-known acts which could do a great job. You wouldn’t want somebody finding out the work while your reputation is at risk. The professional agency can offer established acts who have performed at functions just like yours. A seasoned act will be able to cope with the different conditions that could come up throughout the show effortlessly. If they do not have anything but comedy club performances listed be careful. In comedy clubs anything goes and any kind of language is ok. This is probably not the situation at the company event.

Improv Comedian: Exactly What Does It Take To Be One
Sep 1st, 2010 by admin

An improv comedian only has himself while on an vacant stage. Each and every idea he puts forth hails from within him. The best improvisers know this and depend on their instincts and let their thoughts flow out. Likewise, the ideal speakers understand that the viewers is there to see them. And not just hide behind other people’s thoughts or method, they’re just 100% themselves while they communicate. Doing improv comedy techniques may help you be much more natural. Improv comedy, although not the actual focal point for a stand-up, is probably something you ‘must’ have in your strategy. At least, knowing how to improvise will certainly make you feel more at ease on stage since you’ll be aware that, no matter what happens, you have the capability to roll with it and be spontaneously hilarious when necessary.

Public speaking, for many, the mere idea of getting up before several people and presenting a speech is much more horrifying compared to heights, snakes, or perhaps death. Imagine how terrified those people would be if they were told to stand before an audience and speak having absolutely nothing thought of in advance – no script, no speech, no nothing. Sound crazy? Surely that is what Improv Comedians undertake every day. Improvisational (or “Improv”) Comedy is a kind of theater where a group of actors take the stage with nothing at all thought of ahead of time and utilize audience ideas to create prompt comedy. Improv Comedy, at its foremost, is all about self-expression.

The abilities that allow an improviser to create instant comedy could profoundly help any speaker to be more at ease and also powerful from the platform. If you want to be a more efficient speaker, you have to learn to be a good improviser: Improv Comedy is an interactive format. Improvisation may be the only art form in which the crowd is present during the time of creation. For that reason, the audience’s needs, wants, and mood may be taken into account to lead the material.

Improv is largely unstructured with the comedian not likely depending on thought of material. With improv you need to distribute the limelight and each one depends on the other a great deal. A comedian that has a disorganized qualities will probably delight in improv since they don’t have to be structured with their routine. Good results in improvisation may be restricted by simply trying too much. There is a law of decreasing results in comedy, and effort does not always equal audience acceptance. It’s an unfortunate reality for the good-hearted/ambitious souls that desperately really want laughter, only to mess up their efforts by attempting way too hard.

Improv comedian feed off of a crowd’s liveliness and create content the crowd likes. The performer pays attention to the audience and creates subtle changes as she goes. However, every single audience is different. If a speaker pays attention to the audience as she is speaking, she can also make subtle improvements to add to her success (adjusting pacing, energy, volume, etc) If you do this, not only will your presentation be more effective, but you will probably develop that sought after “rapport and connection” with the crowd.
